Short Intro and About the Job

Our Summer Internship Experience (SIE) is a 10-week program that allows students to dive into a project relevant to their studies to further grow and develop their learnings. During our 10-week program you will participate in trainings, development sessions, as well as lots of exciting programming!

The dates of our 2027 Program will be May 31st, 2027– August 6th, 2027.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR INTERNSHIP:

A 10-week summer experience immersed in Danone USA's Research & Innovation team

A 40-hour work week with a hybrid schedule and 3+ days in our office, leaving time to enjoy everything a Colorado summer has to offer

The opportunity to showcase your work and present key findings and recommendations to senior leadership at the conclusion of the program

ASSIGNMENTS MAY INCLUDE:

The Product Development Intern may assist in a number of project support roles in the Research & Innovation department. Specific project responsibilities will be identified 30-60 days prior to the start of the internship, based on business need and intern interests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leverage scientific expertise and complete projects using appropriate research, statistical methods, and technical reporting.

Plan, execute, and manage the development of prototype products & processes in lab and pilot plant. Maintain stringent technical and experiment documentation.

Develop supplier relationships to deliver against project needs.

Complete lab testing and shelf-life studies as needed.

Leverage sensory and consumer testing insights to create great-tasting, high-performing products that delight consumers and are superior to the competitive set.

Work with, and provide technical product leadership, to cross-functional teams including but not limited to Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Quality Assurance.

The base compensation range for this position is $25-28 per hour.

About You

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree and have completed courses, in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Food Processing, or a related major.

Proven leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and in teams

Strong written and oral communication skills

Self-starter who takes initiative to identify areas of opportunity and take action

A high level of competence in computer applications and the ability to use technology as a decision-support tool

Ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives, identify deviations from the plan, and facilitate resolution

Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion within and outside of the organization

Project management skills and ability to lead projects through all phases.

Previous internship or work experience (strongly preferred)

Interest in the consumer-packaged goods / manufacturing industry with the desire to start a career with Danone Brands after graduation (strongly preferred)

Familiarity with certification programs preferred but not required (such programs may include non-GMO Project, USDA Organic, Kosher, Vegan, Gluten Free).
