Summer Custodial AssistantThe Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Summer Custodial Assistant at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church supports the maintenance and cleanliness of parish and school facilities during the summer months. This role helps ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, parishioners, and visitors while supporting the overall mission of the parish community.Job Responsibilities:Assist with cleaning and maintaining parish and school buildings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areasPerform routine custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removalSupport floor care, including waxing, buffing, and deep cleaning as neededAssist with setup and breakdown of rooms and spaces for parish and school eventsPerform minor maintenance tasks and report repair needs to supervisory staffHelp maintain outdoor areas, including light groundskeeping as assignedFollow all safety procedures and guidelines for cleaning equipment and materialsEnsure facilities are secure and properly maintained during summer operationsWork collaboratively with maintenance and parish staff to complete assigned projectsJob Qualifications:High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school preferredPrevious custodial, maintenance, or related experience preferredAbility to follow directions and complete tasks independentlyStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safetyPhysical ability to lift, carry, and perform manual labor tasksDependable, punctual, and able to work a consistent scheduleAbility to work collaboratively with staff and supervisorsCommitment to supporting a Catholic parish environmentThe Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
