Job description
Build Projects That Matter East & Westbrook Construction is seeking an experienced General Contracting Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial, industrial, and specialty construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day jobsite operations, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and driving a strong safety culture. We are looking for a hands‑on leader who can solve problems, communicate effectively with owners and subcontractors, and keep projects moving safely, on schedule, and on budget.
What You’ll Do
Manage all day‑to‑day field operations on assigned construction projects.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
Monitor project schedules and drive progress toward key milestones.
Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Ensure work is completed according to plans, quality standards, and project requirements.
Conduct safety meetings, jobsite inspections, and hazard assessments.
Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts.
Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Owners throughout project execution.
Complete daily reports, project documentation, and progress updates.
Manage material deliveries, site logistics, and workforce planning.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of superintendent experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, institutional, or general construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and sequencing.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proven ability to lead subcontractors and field teams.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
OSHA 30 certification.
Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
Experience managing large commercial or industrial construction projects.
