Superintendent – Underground Utilities / Electrical - Charlotte, NC 6 Opportunities (Local & Travelling Positions)
$110,000–$130,000 + Bonus + Company Vehicle
Lead the crews. Own the field operation. Build the infrastructure behind major projects.
We're partnering with a growing underground utility contractor hiring six Superintendents , with opportunities to work locally in the Charlotte/North Carolina market or travel throughout the Southeast.
With an expanding footprint across the Carolinas and Florida, the business delivers underground electrical and telecommunications infrastructure across commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education, multifamily and utility projects, with a growing pipeline of data centre work
If you know how to keep crews productive, plan ahead and take a project from drawings through installation, this is an opportunity to put that experience to work within a specialist contractor investing in equipment, technology and its field operations.
You'll take ownership of daily site operations, bringing together crews, subcontractors, equipment and materials to deliver work safely, accurately and on schedule. Project scopes include underground conduit, direct-buried and concrete-encased duct banks, precast manholes, handholes, directional drilling, cable pulling and site lighting.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Leading field crews and subcontractors, setting clear expectations for safety, quality and production.
Planning manpower, equipment and materials to maintain progress and meet project milestones.
Overseeing trenching, conduit, duct bank, manhole and associated electrical infrastructure installations.
Coordinating utility locating and safe excavation around existing services.
Reading drawings, planning installation sequences and resolving site challenges before they delay progress.
Working closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, clients and inspectors.
Using field reporting tools to track production, communicate progress and maintain accountability.
What You'll Bring
Superintendent or senior field leadership experience in underground utilities, dry utilities or civil infrastructure.
A strong understanding of underground electrical or telecommunications installations, including conduit and duct banks.
The ability to lead multiple crews, organise resources and keep work moving.
Confidence interpreting construction drawings and making practical decisions in the field.
A proactive approach to safety, communication and quality.
Comfort using construction technology and field reporting systems.
Experience with directional drilling, cable pulling or site lighting would be an advantage.
