Job description
A dynamic opportunity exists for a Pharmacy Manager to serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a new behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This hospital is a joint venture between respected healthcare organizations, offering an innovative environment to contribute to quality patient care. The role supports operational pharmacy needs in a small but impactful setting.
This is a contract position with an immediate start and a duration of approximately 13 weeks. There is potential for this assignment to transition into a permanent role, providing long-term career growth.
Schedule/Hours:
Monday through Friday
Day shifts
Key Responsibilities: Oversee all pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, managing dispensing, inventory control, and staff performance
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy for behavioral health patients
Maintain accurate documentation and accountability for controlled substances
Lead quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current and valid Pharmacist license
Experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist-in-Charge preferred
Knowledge of behavioral health pharmacy practices is a strong asset
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and uphold high standards in a fast-paced environment
Location: Lynchburg, VA (proximity to Bedford, VA; candidates should be available for on-site work)
