Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.SUPERVISOR, FLUIDS FABRICATION TECHNICIANSRESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise ST15 fabrication activity, including daily schedules and workflowLead and manage a fabrication and integration staff including all performance management related tasksReview work instructions and make change recommendations when needed with the goal of simplifying manufacturing and increasing build rateAssess and vet the appropriate skillset neededIdentify training needs, and develop training programsProvide required data and reporting to support departmental metrics and improvement objectivesMonitor labor hours and overtime, and implement improvement plans and time management with staffAccomplish production results by communicating job expectations; plan, monitor, and appraise job resultsOrganize, assign and track work/deliverables for the team, ensuring seamless progression through multi-shift work schedulesInitiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departmentsEnsure product quality and conformance to specificationsMaintain tooling and consumable supply inventoryImprove area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvementContinuously improve processes and employee efficiency, utilization, and productivityBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate4+ years in assembly and production, in aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing2+ years of prior leadership experience leading teams, projects or peoplePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in a technical disciplineA&P license10+ years of experience in final assembly and production in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environmentExperience bringing teams and processes from development to production desirableExperience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methodsFamiliarity with Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and failure mode effects analysisAbility to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and ProductionAble to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environmentExcellent attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracyADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to support and work day shift operations, Monday - FridayMust be available to work extended hours and weekends, which varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility requiredMust be able to work at elevated heightsMust be able to travel for short and extended trips as needed, up to 15%Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rainWork performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noiseStand: Up to 6 hours per daySit: Up to 6 hours per dayPush/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 15 minutes per dayOverhead reach: Up to 3 hours per dayWalk: Up to 6 hours per dayLift/Carry: Up to 25lbs.
