Supervisor Manufacturing (3rd Shift)Lycoming Engines seeks a Supervisor to lead a dynamic team of production associates, including mechanics, technicians and skilled trades to support production, development, assembly and testing of engine products and systems. This person will be a charismatic leader and change agent capable of driving relentless improvement, motivating team members and leading them to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, developing, directing, counseling and disciplining employees in a fair and consistent mannerLead and direct employees in various size operations departmentsDevelop and improve operations towards best in class standards including but not limited to talent, processes and facilitiesAssists in developing plant Lean competencies including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Materials / Tools at Point-of-Use, SMED (setup reduction), Flow, Kanban, Cell Layout, Waste Reduction, supplier interface and development.Supervise bargained personnel to insure efficient manpower utilization and assist with planningProactively participate in cross-functional efforts and teams to support Lycoming Premier initiativesResponsible for the training and development of all bargaining unit personnelAdminister the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and collaborate with union leaders in the resolution of shop issuesAssist with selection, installation, operation and on-going maintenance of equipment and systemsEnsure compliance with company procedures and policiesQualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Leadership experienceEngine assembly, engine test, dynamometer operations and machining – both CNC and conventional is a plusExcellent communication, organizational and leadership skillsDemonstrate ability to influence work culture and drive change in organizationsDemonstrate strong problem solving, team building, and conflict resolution skillsPossess strong work ethicMS Office skillsKnowledge of general aviation engine and airframe applications is preferredKnowledge of advanced engine control systems and troubleshooting is preferredMachine shop experience utilizing statistical process control is preferredLean manufacturing experience is a plusSix Sigma training and experience is preferredSpecialized Requirements:Knowledge of data acquisition, electronic and test control systems is preferredPossess the ability to develop, implement, and maintain facility infrastructureCoordinate and prioritize work to meet customer requirements for both production and development demandsWork with and support the FAA to ensure that investigations are conducted accurately and on scheduleAI Readiness: Textron expects employees to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively. Candidates should be comfortable learning and applying these tools, evaluating AI-generated output with sound judgment, and using AI in line with company policy and ethical standards.
