Manufacturing Supervisor-3rd ShiftQuietflex Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries LTD. is seeking a professional, skilled Manufacturing Supervisor-3rd shift. Quietflex Manufacturing is the leading manufacturer and supplier of flexible ductwork for residential and commercial HVAC systems, as well as fiberglass mats for industrial applications. As a vital component of indoor comfort, Quietflex Manufacturing has a robust line that includes a wide variety of specialized products designed to provide the best solutions to the needs of its many customers.Position Summary: Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. You will be part of a Global Company - our family brands are backed by Daikin Industries, LTD.Position Responsibilities May Include:Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demandsProvide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requestsMaintain safe working environment. Meet and or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and deliveryDocument and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices while promoting and enforcing company policies, safety rules and work instructionsCompares actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achievedUtilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, to identify unfavorable trends, and to take corrective actionMeet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, Machine Down Time and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient mannerProactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety resultsComplete required systems work: Mapics, Kronos, Zone etc.Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needsNature & Scope: Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations team. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager. Accountable for the support or production operations team including subordinate work leaders. Typically, does not spend more than 20% of one's time performing the work supervised.Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of materials/warehouse inventory best practices and procedures. Working knowledge with warehouse management systems. Working knowledge of 5S, Lean and Kaizen methodologies and best practices. Prior working knowledge of MAPICS and Kronos is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, and leadership skills. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations. Proven leadership skills, ability to train and develop employees. Strong verbal and written communication skills to converse with employees and upper management. Problem solving in a fast past manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail. Ability to promote an environmentally healthy and safe work environment. Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.Experience: 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar industry. Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role.Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED required. College degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.People Management: YesPhysical Requirements/Work Environment: Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. Some lifting (up to 20 lbs.). Long hours on a computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Must be able to walk 3 to 5 miles a day. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, etc. to move, view and transfer product.Reports To: Plant Superintendent /Manager, Production/ Plant ManagerQualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
