Our Emerging Technologies -Solid Dosage Forms US facility in Durham, NC is a 194,000 square foot tableting and packaging facility that supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. Join Team Novo Nordisk and help us make what matters.The Position:Manage all of the shipping/receiving activities and material handling activities & material movements within the site, with an emphasis on timeliness & accuracy, continual improvement & compliance with cGMPs.Relationships:Reports to Manager.Essential Functions:Manage receipt of all incoming materials to the siteManage shipment of all materials from the site to all customersCoordinate scheduling of incoming/outgoing shipments with couriers/transport companiesManage flow of materials between the warehouse & production within siteMaintain & develop department procedures/SOP's according to cGMP'sDevelop/track internal metrics to measure department performanceImplement corporate initiatives for shipping/receiving and material handlingImprove customer feedback through frequent communication with internal & external customersContinually improve shipping/receiving and material handling processesSupervise shipping & receiving personnel (promote employee development, review/evaluate/improve performance, etc.)Implement cLEAN® principles in all shipping/receiving functions; demonstrate a cLEAN® mindsetEstablish & maintain good & effective communication with all stakeholdersResource allocation to provide an adequate level of production supportFollow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Ability to do close precision work with their hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require colour vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials.Development Of People:Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required or an equivalent combination of education & experienceMay consider an Associate's Degree or relevant field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentMay consider a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentExperience with ERP/MRP systems required (SAP) requiredPreferred Qualifications:Minimum of three (3) years of shipping/receiving or material handling experience required, pharmaceutical industry preferredProject Management experience a plusStrong working knowledge of database management systems preferredProfessional import/export experience (e.g. certified freight forwarder) preferredExcellent verbal & written communication skills; good presentation skills preferredProven process improvement & problem-solving skills (Green Belt certification preferred) preferredKanban / Lean manufacturing experience preferredKnowledge of cGMP & FDA regulations a plusAble to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets preferredWe commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
