Job description
Job Title: Supply Chain Assistant
Location: Irvine, CA (on-site)
Work hour: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Temp, Full-Time
An international manufacturing company is seeking a Supply Chain Assistant to to support daily import, export, order processing, and customer service activities. This is a long-term temporary position, with the potential to become a full-time position depending on business needs and performance. In this role, you will communicate with customers, manufacturing plants, customs brokers, carriers, and freight forwarders to help ensure orders and shipments are handled smoothly and on time.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers and data, able to manage multiple tasks, and has good communication and follow-up skills. This role also provides administrative support for inventory, databases, reporting, and other logistics-related activities.
Responsibilities:
Process customer orders, container orders, invoices, and related documents.
Communicate with customers regarding orders, shipments, documentation, and delivery status.
Coordinate with manufacturing plants to confirm order details and follow up on any issues.
Work with customs brokers to provide required documents and support import/export procedures.
Track shipments and communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to monitor delivery progress.
Follow up on delays, order issues, or other concerns and help coordinate solutions with the appropriate parties.
Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments, invoices, and other logistics transactions.
Track freight charges and other logistics-related costs.
Assist with inventory tracking and control.
Enter and update information in databases and internal systems.
Assist with basic data analysis and reporting.
Support other administrative and logistics-related tasks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic to intermediate Excel skills, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis.
Related work experience is preferred, but not required.
Proactive and willing to take initiative when handling tasks and resolving issues.
Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Relevant work experience, practical skills, and a willingness to learn are valued.
Able to learn new systems, procedures, and logistics-related processes.
Japanese bilingual skills is a plus
The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
