Our employees enjoy challenging projects in the development and manufacture of light scattering particle counters and diverse technologies and applications.We are looking for a Supply Quality Technician who will contribute to the success of the Quality Control Team, applying their expertise in performing inspections and eye for detail to support the achievement of team and company goals and deliver innovative, reliable solutions. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and maintain a commitment to professional excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.A Supply Quality Technician is responsible for reviewing incoming products and materials, first article parts, and nonconforming parts identified during production to make sure they meet company requirements. This job involves performing inspections, keeping a record of defects, analyzing products, and providing input to Quality, Production, and Engineering and feedback on processes and procedures. To be successful in this role, the Supply Quality Technician should possess a trained eye for detail and be a reliable and committed individual. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards are essential.Job Responsibilities:Read part drawings, specifications, and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the parts and materialsApprove or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performancePerform incoming inspections on parts received from vendorsProvide feedback to management on the quality of the materials received in inspectionSet and use a variety of precision instrumentsWork from inspection checklists and work instructions used on the production floorKeep detailed required inspection recordsDevelop, program, and optimize CMM inspection routinesLead first article inspections (FAI) and ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001Set up parts and fixtures for accurate CMM measurementInterpret engineering drawings and GD&T to verify part conformanceReview and validate inspection results and reportsIdentify and document non-conformance and notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of itemsSupport basic troubleshooting of CMM programs and probing issuesLead Measurement System Analysis and Gage R&R activitiesFollow established quality procedures and inspection plansTroubleshoot measurement issues, program errors, and variation sourcesAnalyze inspection data and support root cause and corrective action activitiesCollaborate with engineering on design-for-measurement and tolerance analysisServe as a technical authority for dimensional inspection and metrologySelect output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products per day, etc.Prepare and submit reports to the Supply Quality ManagerReview and inspect parts from production, engineering, and directly from suppliers as neededFollow established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant directives for the safe performance of daily activitiesContinuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safetyThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Responsibilities may evolve over time, and other related duties may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the companyRequired Qualifications:Knowledge of measuring devices and test equipment to support inspection and testing of all parts and sub-assemblies as needed.Must be able to read blueprints and be capable of calculating print dimensions, angles, radii, etc.Must have a working knowledge of production processes and product requirements.Good communication skills, both written and verbalContributes to a team-oriented environment by building strong working relationships and supporting collective successWilling to cross-train to support different products as neededProven experience as a quality inspector or relevant roleA keen eye for detail and a results-driven approachResponsible and trustworthyFamiliarity with quality testing machines and systemsThorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologiesWorking knowledge of MS OfficeFlexible and adaptable to changing business needsPreferred Qualifications:Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)Work Environment & Physical Requirements:This role primarily operates in an office/lab/manufacturing environment. Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods of timeOccasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be requiredReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this roleCompensation & Benefits:Competitive base salary range: $25.75 - $34 per hour, depending on experienceOur compensation philosophy: we offer competitive pay based on market data, including local, national, and industry benchmarks. For new hires, offers are generally within the established min- to mid-point of the range for the role, with flexibility to recognize experience, skills, and education.
