Job description
Billing SpecialistAccurately posts payments for all physician services in a timely manner, reviews payments and verifies appropriate usage of modifiers and CPT-4 codes to ensure appropriate reimbursement.Preferred Qualifications:Two (2) years of experience in utilizing Windows-based software applications.Previous financial or banking experience.Basic knowledge of Managed Care remittance and adjustment process.One (1) year of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial billing and collections.Ability to type 30 words per minute for CRT and PC input.General knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.Ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to resolution.Ability to meet and greet public and handle difficult situations diplomatically.Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.Ability to operate an adding machine quickly and accurately by touch.Ability to use standard office equipment.Basic mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.Mandatory Education: High School Diploma, GED or CertificatePosition is located at SMH Support Services building in downtown Sarasota, FL (Main Street).Monday - FridayEmployment Screening Requirements: As part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's commitment to keeping people safe, all individuals providing care to vulnerable populations are required to undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
