Surface Mount Assembly TechnicianLeidos' Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd Shift Surface Mount Assembly Technician to join our team that runs SMT equipment that produce a variety of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA's).Leidos Defense Systems Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. Our team is solving the world's toughest security challenges for customers with "can't fail" missions.Primary ResponsibilitiesWorking knowledge of SMT machines such as: Stencil Printer, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick & Place machine, Reflow Oven, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-ray and hand solderingUnderstanding of different electronics packages such as 0402, 0603, BGA's and how they are processed on a SMT lineExperience working under a microscopeHand soldering SMT and Through-hole partsWorks to achieve day-to-day objectives and have significant impact on the work output.Works independently under limited supervisionWork in team environment and interacting with different functions, project teams and productions teamsBasic QualificationsHS Diploma/GED and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience.Surface Mount Technology experience or related electronics assembly experienceKnowledge of SMT processes used to build Printed Circuit Board AssembliesAbility to read drawings and follow work instructionsMust be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret ClearanceThis posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience. Level of opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to a candidate's experience.Preferred ExperienceCurrent or prior certification in IPC-A-610.Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.Experience on SMT equipment and hand soldering
