Are you ready to go beyond?We have an immediate need for a Surface Treater 2nd Shift (onsite).What You Will Do:Set up and operate a number of surface treatments and cleaning equipment to prepare a variety of turbine engine parts for subsequent operations.Perform masking and media finishing operation where methods and processes are developed and closely controlled.Work from verbal and written instructions and operation sheets to set up, operate, and adjust a wide variety of manually and numerically controlled surface treatment equipment.Run test pieces and reoperate rejected parts following prescribed repair instructions, checking both visually and with gages provided.Perform routine servicing throughout such as operator's checklists for upkeep and to ensure equipment operates properly.May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.Qualifications You Must Have:HS Diploma or equivalent6-12 months of experience.Qualifications we prefer:In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.This role is:Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process.
