Locums - Paducah, Kentucky Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening
Clinical Role
Seeking a Cardiac Surgeon for short-term hospital-based coverage. A strong cardiac surgery background is required; thoracic experience is preferred but not required.
Assignment Details
Coverage Dates:
Candidates must be available for one of the following:
December 24-28, 2026 - Preferred December 28, 2026-January 4, 2027 Schedule:
24-hour coverage, 7:00 AM-7:00 AMApproximately 4-7 shifts per month1-2 Cardiothoracic surgical cases per dayAdult and geriatric patients Clinical Responsibilities
Adult cardiac surgeryCABG, including arterial revascularization and redo casesHeart valve repair/replacementICU management of high-risk cardiac patientsImpella insertion, removal, and bailoutStructural heart procedure support in Hybrid OR/Cath LabGeneral thoracic procedures preferred but not required Support & Practice Setting
Hospital-based1 Heart OR and 1 Hybrid ORFirst Assist with endoscopic saphenous vein harvest experienceDedicated Cardiothoracic anesthesia supportCollaborative ICU teamEpic EMR Requirements
Board Certified - RequiredAdult Cardiac Surgery experience - RequiredImpella support - RequiredStructural Heart support - RequiredBLS - RequiredKentucky license preferred; willing to licenseClean professional history - Required About Paducah, Kentucky
