Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery & Adult Trauma Locum Tenens in Dallas, TX Join our Dallas, Texas healthcare team as an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner supporting inpatient general surgery and adult trauma patients. This on-site locum tenens opportunity is ideal for a Nurse Practitioner who enjoys collaborative surgical care, inpatient consultations, rounding, and guiding patients through the preoperative and postoperative process. Locum Tenens Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,270-$3,870 Position Type: Locum tenens contract Location: Dallas, Texas Setting: On-site inpatient general surgery and adult trauma consultation service Start Date: May 6, 2026 End Date: August 26, 2026 Duration: Approximately 16 weeks, with possible continued coverage Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday; 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Support: Nursing staff and collaboration with supervising surgeons Patient Population: Adult general surgery and trauma patients Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements At least 1 year of recent clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient surgical, trauma, or closely related setting Acute Care Adult Nurse Practitioner certification Board certification or board eligibility Active Texas Nurse Practitioner license Current ATLS certification Ability to provide inpatient consultation coverage for adult general surgery and trauma patients Comfort with basic bedside procedures, including dressing changes and drain management Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment General Surgery Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities Provide inpatient consultations for adult general surgery and trauma patients Perform patient evaluations, follow-up assessments, and preoperative and postoperative consultations Round with surgeons and contribute to coordinated daily care plans Manage inpatient admissions and discharges Perform routine bedside care, including dressing changes and drain management Collaborate with multiple supervising surgeons and the nursing team Support a variable and potentially busy patient volume while maintaining high-quality, timely patient care No first-assist or operating room duties are expected Apply now for this Acute Care Nurse Practitioner locum tenens opportunity supporting general surgery and adult trauma care in Dallas, Texas.
