Clinical Role
Ongoing, PRN coverage preferredHigh-acuity Cardiac Surgery ICU and stepdown coverageAdult patientsComprehensive inpatient management of complex pre- and postoperative cardiac surgery patientsHigh degree of autonomy with Cardiac Surgeon and multidisciplinary team collaborationNo call Open Shifts
November 2026
November 26-27: Stepdown, 6:00 am-6:30 pmNovember 28-29: ICU, 6:30 am-7:00 pm December 2026
December 7-8, 12-14, 24-25: Stepdown, 6:00 am-6:30 pmDecember 21-23: ICU nights, 6:30 pm-7:00 am January 2027
January 1-3: Stepdown, 6:00 am-6:30 pmJanuary 1-3: 2 ICU providers needed , 6:30 am-7:00 pm Practice Setting & Patient Volume
Cardiac Surgery ICU and stepdown serviceCensus approximately 12-22 patientsApproximately 12-15 primary patients with remaining volume consisting of consultsCardiac Surgeon available and rounds on patientsHospitalist coverage at nightEpic EMRSectra PACS Clinical Expectations
Management of CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery patientsDaily assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planningArrhythmia and pacemaker managementVolume management, diuresis, and electrolyte managementInfection surveillance and recognition of clinical deteriorationChest tube and pacing wire removalSurgical drain removal and wound careAdmission, discharge, and care coordination Requirements & Credentialing
Board certification requiredMinimum 2 years of relevant experience requiredLevel I trauma experience requiredActive Missouri license required; willing to licenseCompact licensure acceptedBLS and ACLS required What's great about Saint Louis, Missouri?
