General Surgery Trauma PA Locums Job in Texas Weekend Days ASAP - Ongoing Assignment
Coverage Details
ASAP - Ongoing
Weekend day coverage
Shift Details
6am-6pm
Saturday and Sunday coverage only
Coverage every weekend
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible
ATLS required
Must be licensed in Texas
Physician Assistant: Board Certification or Texas standard to practice
Required Procedures / Skills
Inpatient admissions
Consultations
Discharges
General surgery and trauma inpatient coverage
Adult patient population coverage
Bedside procedures including dressing and drain management
Assignment Details
Must be local
No first assist duties
Collaborate with on-call surgeons covering ED, elective general surgery, and Level III trauma consults
APP will perform discharges
Patient volume is variable and consists of consultations, follow-ups, pre-operative consults, post-operative consults, and rounding with physicians
Busy service
EMR: eCW
Support staff: Nursing
Supervising physicians: Multiple physicians; seven providers currently cover the trauma call schedule
No operating room responsibilities other than routine bedside procedures familiar to APPs in current practice
Future coverage needs are possible
