Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) - Locum Tenens in Langhorne, PA Experienced Physician Assistant needed for a cardiothoracic surgery locum tenens job in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Join a collaborative heart team in an inpatient hospital setting, supporting adult patients, postoperative care, and overnight and weekend call coverage. Locum Tenens Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,510-$4,160 Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital-based practice serving adult patients Location: Langhorne, Pennsylvania, in Bucks County near Philadelphia Start Date: October 12, 2026, or as soon as credentialed Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with ongoing coverage needs Schedule: Varied coverage including nights, weekends, occasional weekdays, and on-call responsibilities Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week Call Coverage: Weekend rounding on Saturday and Sunday with subsequent call coverage; additional call as needed Electronic Medical Record: Epic EMR Privileges: Temporary privileges may be available Physician Assistant Job Requirements At least 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience; new graduates will not be considered Board Certified Physician Assistant Active Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license; candidates requiring a new state license will not be considered Current ACLS and BLS certifications Demonstrated experience supporting cardiothoracic surgery and heart-team operations Ability to provide local coverage as required Clean background required Strong clinical judgment, communication, and care-coordination skills Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Responsibilities Support the cardiothoracic surgery team in the operating room and inpatient hospital setting Perform preoperative physical examinations and patient evaluations Round on adult cardiothoracic surgery patients, including weekend rounding Assess, diagnose, and treat illnesses and postoperative complications Order and interpret diagnostic tests Assist with cardiothoracic surgical procedures Perform suture removal and chest tube insertions Perform endoscopic retrieval procedures as clinically appropriate Write prescriptions within scope of practice Coordinate care with surgeons, nurses, specialists, patients, and families Provide overnight, weekend, and on-call coverage for urgent patient needs Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Epic Apply now for this cardiothoracic surgery Physician Assistant locum tenens opportunity in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
