Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Surgery Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for surgical services in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. This senior-level opportunity is designed for an accomplished nursing professional with substantial management experience and a strong background in surgery who is prepared to lead teams, coordinate department operations, and support consistently high standards of surgical care.
The Surgery Manager will combine hands‑on knowledge of the surgical environment with proven management capabilities to support staff performance, patient safety, clinical quality, and efficient department operations. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to Muscle Shoals, Alabama within 30 days if not already within the area.
Required Qualifications
Current Alabama State Board of Nursing RN license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ACLS and/or PALS certification , as applicable
Minimum 5 years of professional experience demonstrating management skills
Minimum 2–3 years of Surgery experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage clinical teams within a healthcare environment
Must be able and willing to relocate to Muscle Shoals, Alabama within 30 days
Preferred Qualifications
Previous management or leadership experience within Surgical Services or the Operating Room
Experience overseeing surgical staff, workflows, and daily department operations
Strong understanding of surgical patient safety, quality standards, and clinical practices
Demonstrated staff‑development and performance‑management abilities
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced nursing leader with a strong surgical background who brings both the clinical knowledge and management experience necessary to lead a surgical services team effectively. They should have at least 2–3 years of direct Surgery experience along with a minimum of five years of professional experience in which meaningful management skills have been demonstrated.
The strongest candidate will be comfortable balancing staff leadership, clinical priorities, operational demands, and patient‑safety expectations while remaining closely connected to the day‑to‑day needs of the surgical department. Candidates outside the area must also be prepared to relocate within the required 30‑day timeframe .
Compensation
$100,000 – $120,000 annually
Compensation within the listed range will be determined based on the candidate's surgical leadership experience, management background, additional clinical expertise, certifications, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position.
