Job description
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Neurosurgery experience for a locum need in Virginia , beginning in mid-December 2026 . This is a full-time, inpatient position providing coverage for a maternity leave through at least April 2027. The schedule offers consistent weekday hours with no call requirements .

Adult and geriatric patient population
Epic EMR
Patient census varies
Responsibilities
Provide post-procedural daily care
Manage hospitalized neurosurgical patients
Patient and family communication
Patient and family education
Collaborate with an employed Neurosurgery NP
Coordinate care within the inpatient neurosurgical team
Requirements
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Board Certification required
Active Virginia license required at submission
Candidates requiring Virginia licensure will not be considered
Active DEA required
Active ACLS required
Active BLS required
Clean background required
No malpractice or licensing issues accepted
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 120 days

Ideal Candidate
An experienced Neurosurgery NP or PA with an active Virginia license who is comfortable managing inpatient post-procedural care and collaborating closely with the neurosurgical team. This opportunity is particularly well suited for an APP seeking a full-time Monday Friday schedule with no call .
