As one of the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare organizations, CommonSpirit Health delivers more than 20 million patient encounters annually through more than 2,300 clinics, care sites and 158 hospital-based locations, in addition to its home-based services and virtual care offerings.As our Surgery Scheduler, you will coordinate and schedule surgeries, procedures, and follow-up appointments across multiple physician teams, keeping each surgeon's operative, procedural, clinic, research, and administrative schedules aligned. You will serve as the central point of coordination for surgeons' overall practice across Seattle, RMC, and off-site clinic locations.Every day you will manage day-of-visit patient flow, room patients, and handle phone and Cerner message communications to keep the clinic running smoothly. You will also provide procedure room support and step in for sick and vacation coverage to ensure continuity of care.To be successful in this role, you will need to be highly organized and able to juggle multiple complex, overlapping schedules without losing track of details. You will also need strong communication skills and comfort working within Cerner and similar systems to keep surgeons, clinic staff, and patients coordinated.RequiredOne (1) year of experience in healthcare or a related environment, with knowledge of medical/surgical terminologyExperience with IBM/Cerner/IDXExcellent customer service, communication, and de-escalation skillsBasic computer proficiencyStrong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressureCollaborative, reliable, and punctualMedical Assistant Registered (MA-R) through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason, required within 60 days of hire (only if required by the department for patient rooming and workflows)Virginia Mason Franciscan Health brings together two award winning health systems in Washington state - CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason.
