Job description
Surgery Scheduler Opening In CaSurgery Scheduler opportunity with a busy surgical practice in Southern California. Position will cover a leave of absence. Support office operations across Montclair and Covina locations. Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, administrative team members, and leadership. Ideal candidate will have prior experience in a surgical or specialty practice setting. Strong opportunity for someone with broad front-office, back-office, billing, credentialing, and operational experience.Position Responsibilities:Schedule outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures with hospitals, surgery centers, and physiciansCoordinate surgery dates and times with patients, providers, operating rooms, and anesthesia teamsObtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals as neededPrepare and maintain accurate surgical schedules and patient recordsConfirm all required pre-operative testing, medical clearances, and documentation are completed before surgeryCommunicate pre-operative instructions and appointment details to patientsCoordinate changes, cancellations, and rescheduling of surgical casesAnswer incoming calls and assist patients with scheduling-related questionsCollaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flowJob Qualifications:Surgery scheduling experience strongly preferredKnowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorizationsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems preferredStrong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skillsAbility to support multiple locations as neededProfessional, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical practice environmentBenefits / Additional Details:Temporary position covering leave of absenceAdditional compensation and benefit details to be discussed during the interview processMontclair and Covina offer convenient access to the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire, with proximity to major Southern California communities, dining, schools, and regional amenities.
