Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant - Salem, OregonTravel Covered Urgent Start Available Ongoing Coverage NeedsThe OpportunityJoin a highly respected cardiothoracic surgery team and contribute to advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care in a collaborative environment. This opportunity offers a mix of inpatient, outpatient, ICU, and operating room responsibilities, making it ideal for experienced Physician Assistants seeking a dynamic and rewarding locum tenens assignment.Assignment Details Location: Salem, OregonStart Date: ASAPDuration: Ongoing coverage needsSchedule: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, four 10-hour shifts per weekSetting: Inpatient & Outpatient Cardiothoracic SurgeryCompensation & Benefits Competitive market-rate compensation Weekly direct deposit pay Travel expenses covered Licensing support Referral bonuses up to $1,000 Dedicated recruiter & expedited credentialing process What You'll Do Provide perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients First assist in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) Manage patients in the Cardiac ICU and step-down units Participate in inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic care Collaborate closely with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff Support continuity of care throughout the surgical episode Requirements Active Oregon Physician Assistant license required Minimum of 2 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery PA experience ACLS certification required ATLS certification required Prescriptive authority required Oregon state CSR required Epic EMR proficiency required COVID-19 vaccination required Clean NPDB preferred Facility & Practice Highlights Established cardiothoracic surgery program Approximately 5 cardiac surgeries and 3 thoracic surgeries weekly Cardiac ICU census of approximately 7 patients Collaborative staffing model including cardiac surgeons, thoracic surgeons, and experienced PAs No transplant procedures Maquet EVH system utilized Vein harvesting focus; no radial artery harvesting Case mix includes CABG and valve procedures Why You'll Love This LocationSalem offers the perfect blend of outdoor recreation, Pacific Northwest beauty, and urban convenience.
