Sign-on Bonus & Relocation Bonus Available! The Certified Surgical Assistant functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the assistant to the surgeon. Also functions when required as the first or second surgical technician or second circulator under the direct supervision of the registered nurse (RN).

Field of Study Surgical Technology Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) - National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA)

Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) Exempt - In role prior to 3/13/22 with training/experience - Exempt/Not Required

Work Experience

Surgical assisting training in at least five major services

Provides age specific care to obstetrical patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the department. Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient and cost effective department. Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to safety and legal requirements established at the hospital and unit level and established policies and procedures. Charges for equipment and supplies. Assists with supply ordering, inventory control, and supply chain management as necessary. Collaborates with surgeons and OR team to ensure needed trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready for each procedure. Participates in Quality Assessment / Performance Improvement and Infection Control Committee's as needed. Provides care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures in the department.
