Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient evaluations, undertaking physical exams and comprehensive medical history reviews
Help in assessing and diagnosing surgical conditions by analyzing imaging studies and lab results
Work closely with surgeons to develop and implement individualized surgical treatment plans
Offer vital intraoperative assistance, such as preparing operating rooms, positioning patients, and passing surgical instruments during operations
Provide exceptional pre- and post-operative care, encompassing medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
Education
A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Clinical rotations with a focus on surgery are highly preferred
Certifications
Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certifications required
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Skills
Strong understanding of surgical principles and maintaining sterile techniques
Demonstrated capability in interpreting diagnostic tests and contributing to intricate clinical decisions
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to excel in high-pressure settings, particularly during surgical cases
