Key Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments, conducting physical exams and analyzing medical histories
Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions by interpreting imaging studies and laboratory results
Work closely with surgeons to develop and implement individualized surgical treatment plans
Provide critical intraoperative support, including room preparation, ensuring proper patient positioning, and instrument handling
Offer exceptional pre- and post-operative care touching on medication management, wound treatment, and patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Previous clinical rotations focused on surgical practices are highly advantageous
Licenses and Certifications
Active and unrestricted PA-C certification is required
BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
PA licensure in the state of Alabama or eligibility for licensure
