Job description

Surgical Physician Assistant

Join a team where precision meets purpose in vibrant Indiana! The operating room is not merely a setting for procedures; it's a space where precision, trust, and collaboration meld to create transformative healing experiences. As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you'll step into a crucial role, where your skills extend beyond surgery to crafting patient journeys from pre-op to post-recovery. This full-time position invites you to work hand-in-hand with distinguished surgeons and dedicated nurses. Anticipating the rhythm of surgery becomes second nature. Here, passion is paired with purpose, and you'll witness the profound impacts of diligent care every day. Your warm presence at the bedside, thoughtful patient education, and support through each surgical stage not only assists the healthcare team but elevates the patients' spirits during challenging times. In your capacity as a Surgical PA, you'll conduct thorough patient evaluations, review medical histories, and interpret diagnostic results. Close collaboration with surgeons in developing and deploying personalized surgical treatment plans is integral to this role. Your involvement will radiate during surgeries—you'll prepare the operating rooms, ensure every detail is attended to, and confidently assist in instrument handling. Your exceptional care continues beyond the OR, providing crucial pre-and post-operative support, including medication management, wound care, discharges, and education that empowers patients.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

A master's degree from an accredited PA program.

A vested interest in surgical practices through completed rotations—preferably with a surgical focus.

A current and unrestricted PA-C certification, along with BLS and ACLS certification, complemented by state licensure or eligibility.

The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of surgical principles coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care. Excellent communication skills and an ability to navigate high-pressure situations are vital, as is a fitting respect for patient dignity. Indulge in the myriad of benefits that accompany this role, including a competitive salary with performance incentives, comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision), generous paid time off, CME reimbursement, and a constructive team environment that encourages career growth amid top-tier resources and equipment. Your role as a Surgical Physician Assistant transcends technical execution—it embodies a commitment to resilience and empathy amidst the unpredictable nature of healthcare. You're not just present in the OR; you're a reassuring presence throughout patients' journeys, helping them navigate fears, comprehend their diagnoses, and reclaim their well-being post-surgery.
