Surgical Physician Assistant

Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, performing both physical examinations and in-depth health history reviews
Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions by interpreting imaging studies and reviewing lab results with precision
Collaborate with surgeons to create tailored surgical treatment strategies for each patient
Provide intraoperative assistance, ensuring proper preparation of operating rooms and patient positioning while confidently passing instruments during surgeries
Deliver outstanding preoperative and postoperative care, including administering medications, managing wound care, planning discharge, and educating patients
Educational and Certification Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Clinical rotations with a focus on surgical training strongly preferred
Necessary Certifications
Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Essential Skills
Comprehensive understanding of surgical practices and sterile techniques
Ability to analyze diagnostic tests and contribute to difficult clinical decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
