Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient evaluations, encompassing physical assessments and comprehensive reviews of medical histories
Aid in diagnosing surgical conditions through careful interpretation of imaging studies and laboratory results
Work collaboratively with surgeons to develop and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies
Provide vital intraoperative support by preparing surgical environments, ensuring proper patient positioning, and managing the hand-off of surgical tools during procedures
Guarantee exemplary pre- and post-operative care, including drug administration, wound management, discharge planning, and patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree awarded from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Prior completion of clinical rotations emphasizing surgical practice strongly preferred
Certifications Required
Current, unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory
Valid state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Physician Assistant
Skills Needed
Robust understanding of surgical principles and sterile techniques
Proven capability to interpret diagnostic tests and engage in complex clinical judgments
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Adept at thriving in high-stress environments, particularly during surgical procedures
