nThe Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services at Albany Medical Center is seeking a per-diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our busy and collaborative Perioperative Surgical team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of a progressive surgical team at the forefront of patient care. The candidate will work alongside accomplished surgeons and staff while gaining hands-on exposure to advanced robotic technology, such as the Davinchi Xi, dv5, and the Mako inOrthopedics robotics. The candidate will also assist a wide variety of surgical specialties in a supportive learning environment.
nPosition Highlights:
nnnPosition located at AMC’s main campus (43 New Scotland Ave Albany NY 12208) with occasional work at the South Clinical Campus in Albany
n
nnPay rate: $70.00 per hour
n
n nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include:
nnnProvide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients
n
nnAssist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures, including robotic assist in general surgery, urology, gynecology, thoracic & colorectal, and total joints, sports medicine, foot & ankle, upper extremity in the Orthopedic department.
n
nnPerform first-assist and second-assist duties in the operating room
n
nnCollaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
n
nnParticipate in a collaborative learning environment where experienced surgical teams provide mentorship and training across multiple surgical specialties
n
nnMaintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques, technologies, and perioperative best practices through ongoing professional development
n
nnDocument patient encounters, operative notes, and clinical findings accurately and in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
n
nnParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice efforts within the surgical department
n
nnSupport a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and excellence in a fast-paced surgical environment
n
n nQualifications:
nnnCompletion of appropriate education as follows: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program OR Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and completion of RNFA training
n
nnMust be licensed and actively registered as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State
n
nnMust have prior experience in robotic assisted surgery and/or orthopedic surgery
n
nnAble to quickly master all aspects of a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system.
n
nnExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
n
nnMust be HIPAA compliant at all times.
n
nnACLS/BLS certification required
