Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments, incorporating physical examinations and comprehensive medical history evaluations
Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through the interpretation of imaging and laboratory results
Work intimately with surgeons to formulate and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies
Provide essential intraoperative support by preparing surgical environments, ensuring correct patient alignment, and efficiently passing instruments
Offer outstanding pre-operative and post-operative care which includes medication administration, wound management, discharge planning, and comprehensive patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgery is highly preferred
Certifications
Valid and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certifications required
State licensure (or eligibility to practice) as a Physician Assistant
Essential Skills
In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
Demonstrated capability to interpret diagnostic information and influence complex clinical decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform under pressure, particularly during surgical interventions
