Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and comprehensive reviews of health histories
Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of surgical ailments through careful interpretation of imaging studies and laboratory results
Work in close collaboration with surgeons to design and implement individualized surgical care plans
Provide key intraoperative assistance by preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and efficiently passing instruments during surgeries
Offer outstanding pre- and post-operative support, including managing medications, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgical practices highly preferred
Required Certifications
Current and active PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory
Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Key Skills
Solid understanding of surgical principles and sterile procedures
Demonstrated ability to analyze diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical diagnoses
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Able to maintain composure in fast-paced settings, especially during surgical cases
