Job Duties
Perform thorough patient evaluations, including detailed physical assessments and medical history reviews
Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions, interpreting lab results and medical imaging
Work closely with surgeons to formulate and implement personalized surgical treatment strategies
Provide critical intraoperative support, ensuring proper patient positioning and assisting with surgical instruments
Ensure comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, including managing medications, wound care, discharge plans, and patient education
Education Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Preferred completion of clinical rotations focusing on surgical practices
Required Certifications
Valid PA-C certification
Current BLS and ACLS certification
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Essential Skills
Strong grasp of surgical methods and sterile techniques
Ability to interpret diagnostic results and aid in complex clinical decision-making
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Capability to perform well under pressure, especially during surgical scenarios
