Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and meticulous reviews of medical histories
Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of surgical conditions, interpreting imaging studies and lab results
Work in close partnership with surgeons to formulate and implement customized surgical treatment plans
Provide intraoperative assistance, including room preparation, ensuring optimal patient positioning, and passing surgical tools during procedures
Ensure high-quality pre- and post-operative patient care, covering medication administration, wound management, discharge instructions, and patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Clinical rotations with a focus on surgery highly preferred
Certifications
Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certification required
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Desired Skills
Extensive knowledge of surgical protocols and sterile techniques
A proven record of interpreting diagnostic tests and influencing complex clinical decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations, particularly during surgical cases
