Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient evaluations, including complete physical examinations and reviews of medical history
Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions by interpreting imaging studies and lab results
Work hand-in-hand with surgeons to devise and implement tailored surgical treatment plans
Provide essential intraoperative support, including preparing operating rooms, positioning patients, and passing instruments during procedures
Offer outstanding pre- and post-operative care, including administering medications, managing wounds, planning discharges, and educating patients
Educational Qualifications
Master's degree from a recognized Physician Assistant program
Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgical settings is highly preferred
Certifications
Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certification are mandatory
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Key Skills
Strong understanding of surgical techniques and sterile procedures
Capable of interpreting diagnostic tests and actively participating in critical clinical decision-making
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to excel in high-pressure situations, especially during surgical interventions
