Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient evaluations, including comprehensive physical assessments and careful reviews of medical histories
Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of surgical conditions by interpreting imaging studies and laboratory results
Work intimately alongside surgeons to formulate and implement patient-specific surgical care plans
Provide vital intraoperative assistance, including preparing the surgical area, ensuring appropriate patient positioning, and passing instruments during surgeries
Administer outstanding preoperative and postoperative care, which includes managing medications, caring for wounds, planning discharges, and providing patient education
Education Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant training program
Completion of clinical rotations that focus on surgical practices is strongly preferred
Certifications Needed
Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certifications are required
Valid state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Physician Assistant
Skills Preferred
Extensive knowledge of surgical protocols and sterile techniques
Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostics and contribute to intricate clinical decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Capacity to excel in fast-paced settings, especially during surgical operations
