Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including thorough physical examinations and in-depth medical history assessments
Assist in diagnosing surgical issues through careful analysis of imaging studies and lab results
Work alongside surgeons to develop and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies for patients
Provide critical intraoperative assistance, such as preparing surgical environments, positioning patients effectively, and managing surgical instruments
Offer exceptional pre- and post-operative care, which encompasses medication administration, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgery is highly desirable
Certifications Required
Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
Current BLS and ACLS certification is required
State licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physician Assistant
Essential Skills
In-depth knowledge of surgical techniques and sterile practices
Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic test results and assist in clinical decision-making
Superb communication and interpersonal skills
Able to perform well under pressure, especially during surgical procedures
