Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including thorough physical examinations and detailed medical history reviews
Assist in evaluating and diagnosing surgical conditions through interpretation of imaging tests and laboratory results
Work collaboratively with surgeons to develop and implement tailored surgical treatment plans for patients
Provide critical intraoperative support, which involves preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and managing surgical instruments during procedures
Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, encompassing medication administration, wound care, discharge planning, and educating patients
Education Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Experience in clinical rotations with a focus on surgery is strongly preferred
Certification Requirements
Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certification required
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Key Skills
Extensive knowledge of surgical principles and sterile techniques
Proven capability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute meaningfully to complex clinical decisions
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
