Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient evaluations, encompassing physical examinations and comprehensive assessments of medical histories
Collaborate in the diagnosis and evaluation of surgical concerns, interpreting imaging studies and laboratory results
Work intimately with surgeons to devise and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies
Provide critical intraoperative assistance, including preparing surgical environments, ensuring proper patient positioning, and efficiently passing instruments during operations
Offer outstanding pre- and post-operative care, which includes administering medications, managing wounds, planning discharges, and educating patients
Educational Requirements
A Master's degree from a recognized Physician Assistant program
Completion of clinical rotations focused on surgical practice is highly preferred
Certifications Required
Active and unrestricted PA-C credential
BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
Required state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Desired Skills
In-depth knowledge of surgical principles and maintaining sterile environments
Demonstrated ability to analyze diagnostic tests and contribute to complex medical decisions
