Job Duties
Perform thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations and comprehensive medical history assessments
Assist in assessing and diagnosing surgical conditions through analysis of imaging and laboratory results
Work closely with surgeons to craft and implement personalized surgical treatment plans
Supply essential intraoperative assistance, ensuring operating rooms are ready, patients are positioned correctly, and surgical instruments are precisely handed off during procedures
Provide exemplary pre- and post-operative care, covering medication administration, wound management, discharge planning, and patient education
Education Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Preferred completion of clinical rotations emphasizing surgical practice
Certifications Needed
Valid and unrestricted PA-C certification
Required BLS and ACLS certifications
State license (or eligibility) to practice as a Physician Assistant
Essential Skills
In-depth understanding of surgical principles and sterile protocols
Proven experience in interpreting diagnostic results and contributing to intricate clinical decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, especially during surgical operations
