Job Responsibilities
Execute thorough patient evaluations, encompassing physical examinations and extensive reviews of medical history
Support the assessment and diagnosis of surgical conditions through the analysis of imaging and laboratory data
Work hand-in-hand with surgeons to craft and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies
Offer intraoperative assistance, including room preparation, ensuring optimal patient positioning, and the delivery of surgical instruments during operations
Provide outstanding pre- and post-surgical care, including administering medication, managing wound care, and facilitating discharge planning and patient education
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Completion of clinical rotations with an emphasis on surgical disciplines is highly preferred
Certifications
Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certification mandatory
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Essential Skills
Robust understanding of surgical techniques and sterile practices
Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and engage in complex clinical decision-making
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Capacity to perform well under pressure, particularly during surgical operations
