Job Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical evaluations and reviews of their medical backgrounds
Assist in identifying and diagnosing surgical issues through interpretation of diagnostic imaging and lab analyses
Work hand in hand with surgeons to formulate and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies
Provide vital intraoperative assistance, ensuring OR setup, proper patient positioning, and instrument handoffs
Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative support, encompassing medication administration, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Experience with clinical rotations focused on surgical practices is highly preferred
Certifications Required
Valid and current PA-C certification
BLS and ACLS certification required
State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Core Competencies
In-depth understanding of surgical practices and sterile techniques
Ability to interpret diagnostic procedures and contribute to critical clinical decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Capacity to excel in high-pressure scenarios, particularly during surgeries
