West Georgia Eye Care Center, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi‑specialty ophthalmology practice. We are seeking a surgical technologist to assist the surgeon and nurse in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center in accordance with established procedures. Overtime may be required.
Job Responsibilities
Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure.
Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
Sets up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies necessary for that procedure; arranges instruments, sutures, drapes, and supplies per AORN standards.
Observes strict aseptic technique throughout the entire procedure and reports break-in technique to the circulating nurse and the surgeon.
Passes instruments, supplies, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed in a manner that keeps their attention on the operative field.
Sees that all instruments, needles, sponges, and other supplies are removed from the operative field.

Requirements
Surgical Technologist certification preferred, but not required.
At least one year of surgical experience or completion of a formal surgical technician program required.
