Overview: UF Health Durbin Park Hospital, is a transformative new health care destination in St. Johns County, Florida. Rising five stories and spanning approximately 220,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art hospital will feature 99 inpatient beds designed for comfort, innovation and exceptional outcomes. In addition, UF Health Durbin Park Hospital will feature a 24-hour Emergency Department. Responsibilities: Assist the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room and provide patient care in the clinical setting. The Surgical Tech II is also responsible for the care, handling and maintenance of basic surgical equipment and instrumentation.

Qualifications: Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED AND graduate of surgical technologist program.
Licensure
Required: Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of date of hire/transfer.
Certification
Required: BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Necessary Skills
Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
In depth knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
Knowledge of computer programs used in perioperative services.
Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change.
Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.
