Role Overview
The Surgical Technician plays a vital role within the perioperative team, assisting in surgical procedures under RN supervision to ensure safe and effective patient care during the intraoperative period.

The Surgical Technician plays a vital role within the perioperative team, assisting in surgical procedures under RN supervision to ensure safe and effective patient care during the intraoperative period.
Responsibilities Include
Applying aseptic principles to maintain a sterile environment
Demonstrating technical skills, judgment, and knowledge for surgical support
Providing age-specific care, particularly obstetrical care
Organizing supplies and equipment for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Maintaining safety standards for patients, staff, and self
Handling equipment and supplies, including sterilization, disinfection, and repairs
Assisting with patient positioning and preparing the operating room
Performing scrub duties, including training for students and residents
Managing room turnover and setup for subsequent procedures
Qualifications & Skills
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical Technology education (certificate or associate’s degree)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days
Experience as a surgical technologist is preferred
Knowledge of sterile techniques, safety protocols, and surgical instrumentation
