Surveillance OperatorStarbase, TXSpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.The Surveillance Operator is responsible for the real-time surveillance of camera systems, rapid response to security alerts, and dispatching of personnel. This role serves as a critical first line of defense in maintaining situational awareness and ensuring timely response to incidents across the facility.Responsibilities:Active Camera Monitoring: Continuously monitor multiple live camera feeds to detect suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches in real timeAlarm Alert Clearing: Receive, assess, verify, and clear security alarms according to established protocols while maintaining accurate records of all eventsDispatching: Coordinate and dispatch security officers, maintenance teams, emergency services, or other responders as needed using radio, phone or dispatch systemsIncident Command: Assume incident command for security events until relieved by higher authority; provide clear direction, gather critical information and coordinate response effortsDocument all incidents, alarms, dispatches and actions taken in the incident management system with accuracy and attention to detailMaintain constant communication with field teams, supervisors and other departmentsIdentify and report system malfunctions, camera outages, or technical issues to the appropriate support teamFollow all standard operating procedures, post orders and emergency response protocolsMaintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times while handling sensitive security informationBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certification2+ years of experience in security monitoring, CCTV operations, or dispatchingPreferred Skills and Experience:Excellent visual attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple screens simultaneously for extended periodsStrong decision-making and critical thinking skills under pressureExcellent oral and written communication skillsHistory of critical incident handling experienceComputer based proficiency, including security monitoring software, MS Office and dispatch systemsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesWorking knowledge of security principles, alarm systems and incident command practicesAdditional Requirements:Ability to work in a Security Operations Center (control room) environmentPosition is subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testingValid driver's licenseMust be able to sit for long periods while maintaining focusEligible for a US Government security clearanceAvailability to work scheduled shift as needed to include nights, overtime, weekends, holidays and rotating schedulesITAR Requirements:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
