The Senior Manager will serve as a technical authority for switching, routing, virtualization, and infrastructure architecture while also providing direct leadership to network and systems engineering staff. This is a hands‑on technical leadership position requiring someone who can operate at both the architecture and management levels.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, manage, and optimize enterprise switching and routing infrastructure across a multi-site environment.

Manage Juniper and Cisco switching environments, including routing, VLANs, network segmentation, and throughput optimization.

Manage and optimize edge networking and firewall environments utilizing technologies such as SonicWall, Fortinet, and Cisco Firepower.

Maintain reliable site‑to‑site VPN connectivity and proactively address traffic‑flow, bandwidth, latency, and performance issues.

Manage enterprise Meraki wireless infrastructure and related edge services.

Support DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection services utilizing Cloudflare.

Maintain highly available and redundant network architectures with an emphasis on eliminating single points of failure.

Maintain backup and failover connectivity for critical systems.

Public Safety & Critical Infrastructure

Manage dedicated and segmented networks supporting public safety and emergency‑response operations.

Maintain network connectivity supporting radio, surveillance, and emergency communications systems.

Support infrastructure underpinning 911 and other mission‑critical systems, ensuring appropriate availability and redundancy.

Ensure network segmentation, architecture, and access controls supporting public‑safety environments comply with applicable CJIS requirements.

Partner with security personnel and external auditors to implement and validate required technical controls.

Serve as lead architect for the VMware environment, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, resource pools, datastores, and associated storage.

Manage highly available virtual infrastructure supporting both enterprise and mission‑critical workloads.

Oversee storage infrastructure, including Synology storage arrays, ensuring availability, performance, and data integrity.

Manage and support Linux server environments, including system lifecycle, patching, repositories, and platform stability.

Support containerized infrastructure utilizing technologies such as Docker Swarm.

Oversee managed file-transfer infrastructure and related data-transfer services.

Provide infrastructure‑level oversight for MySQL/Percona and Microsoft SQL Server environments, partnering with application teams on performance, availability, and change management.

Monitoring, Reliability & Disaster Recovery

Utilize LogicMonitor, N‑Central, Splunk, and related tools to proactively monitor network and infrastructure health, bandwidth, latency, performance, and availability.

Identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks before they materially impact users or critical services.

Engineer, maintain, and regularly test backup and recovery solutions utilizing Veeam.

Ensure established RPO/RTO objectives are supported and regularly validate restoration procedures for critical systems.

Design infrastructure with appropriate redundancy, failover, clustering, and high‑availability capabilities.

Maintain and test UPS and related power‑continuity systems supporting critical technology infrastructure.

Participate in and help develop a strong on‑call and incident‑response culture.

Support the operational side of identity and access management utilizing technologies such as Okta and enterprise password‑management solutions.

Oversee user provisioning, SSO integration, directory synchronization, access controls, and user lifecycle processes.

Oversee mobile device management and enterprise mobile‑device environments.

Collaborate with security teams to implement infrastructure security controls and remediate identified vulnerabilities.

Support deployment and operation of endpoint‑security technologies within the infrastructure environment.

Assist with technical risk documentation and implementation of applicable compliance controls.

Evaluate system functionality, service operations, and overall performance and recommend improvements.

Lead implementation of new systems, system modifications, upgrades, migrations, and retirement of legacy technologies.

Own the lifecycle of technical documentation, ensuring current architecture diagrams, reference documentation, design records, procedures, and runbooks are maintained.

Monitor infrastructure performance indicators and service levels.

Partner with application, security, engineering, and organizational leadership teams to resolve dependencies and ensure technical alignment.

Lead, coach, and manage network and systems engineering personnel and applicable contract resources.

Establish priorities and provide technical direction to engineering staff.
