Established team | Tax review | Client and practice development
A Long Island public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Director to lead a team of 12 and take ownership of the day-to-day performance of its tax practice.
You’ll combine hands-on review with people leadership, client management and process improvement. There is also a clear commercial remit: strengthening existing relationships and helping the firm bring in new work.
The opportunity
Oversee and develop a team of 12 tax professionals
Review individual and business tax work
Set clear processes for workflow, review and deadlines
Support the team on complex client matters
Build long-term relationships with clients
Develop existing accounts and contribute to new business
Play a key role in the ongoing growth of the practice
What they’re looking for
Broad tax experience within a public accounting firm
Strong tax review skills across individuals and businesses
Experience managing and mentoring a team
A practical approach to improving processes
Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
An interest in business development
$250K–$300K base, depending on experience.
