Company Summary:
An asset management firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing investment tax team. This individual will serve as a key technical resource responsible for supporting a range of investment-related tax matters across pooled investment vehicles and investment portfolios. Working closely with investment, finance, legal and operations teams, the Tax Manager will play a highly visible role in tax planning, compliance oversight, reporting, process improvement, and strategic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical tax guidance and analysis related to investment vehicles, portfolio transactions, capital gains management, distributions, and other investment-related activities, partnering closely with internal stakeholders
Oversee and review tax compliance, reporting, tax provisions, and regulatory filings prepared by third party providers while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of supporting calculations and documentation
Collaborate with investment, finance, operations, legal, and external service providers to assess the tax impact of business initiatives, support new product offerings, and address complex tax-related matters
Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and documentation enhancements while supporting special projects, regulatory developments, and continuous improvement efforts across the investment tax function
Qualifications
3-5 years of investment tax experience within public accounting, asset management or investment management environments
Strong understanding of investment company taxation, including ETFs, mutual funds, distribution calculations, and the tax treatment of complex securities transactions
CPA or working towards a CPA, with exposure to tax provisions, compliance, financial reporting, and technical tax research
